Green Coffee Plant

by Rebecca on August 20, 2010

A coffee company located in Cicero NY is going green. It already uses wind power for its roasting plant and has over 160 solar panels. The Paul Delima plant has been roasting coffee for over 100 years for many brands. The company also takes the used grounds to the local college to be made into compost and recycles. The forward thinking company states that these measures will decrease its power consumption by 15-20%.

Even as a consumer you can make green choices for example, use your used coffee grounds to make compost or sprinkle in your flower beds. Use a French press or a machine with a gold filter to stop using filter paper. Take a stainless steel coffee cup to work filled with freshly brewed gourmet coffee from home.
