A Visit to Hawaii – Drinking Gourmet Kona Beans Every Morning

| |

I recently spent a week in Hawaii on the beautiful island of Maui enjoying the sandy beaches, snorkeling in the sparkling blue waters and of course … drinking fresh Maui and Kona grown coffee beans.

What a delight to have such easy access to Hawaii’s world renowned coffee – some of the most sought after and expensive coffee beans in the world!

When stocking up our hotel’s kitchen with groceries I couldn’t help but notice all the local coffees on the shelves at the grocery stores. We finally settled on half a pound of a Maui-based plantation coffee and half a pound of a Kona-based plantation coffee. With three coffee drinkers in our group after 7 days we finished it off!

Gourmet Hawaiian coffee is delicious and drinking it from a deck with an ocean view is as close to perfection as you can get!

Kona coffee beans are grown on hundreds of small coffee plantations on the west side of Hawaii’s big island where the volcanic soil and climate is perfect. Sunny mornings, cloudy afternoons with rain showers but little wind and mild nights create the perfect weather for growing coffee and the mineral rich volcanic soil along the slopes of Hualalai and Mauna Loa give the coffee unique flavors.

Until the next time I can get back to the tropical islands of Hawaii I will be relying on That’s Coffee’s selection of gourmet Kona coffee beans to reminisce my vacation time.
